I had this dream last week.
I dreamed about Horatio Hornblower (from the miniseries) when he was a kid about 12 years old. He was sitting on the side of the ship on a sail; something was wrong with it. A sailor told him rather gruffly to take the sail under the ship --it had something to do with the anchor. So he pulled the bundle of sail underwater-the currents pushed him, he couldn't get it where it was supposed to go. He went down into dark water, diffuse light; he/I couldn't breathe while underwater- came back up gasping for breath- went back down again pulled the sail all the way to the other end of the ship and past it - came to a small deserted ship that was rather dilapidated. There were three boys sitting on it. He joined them but there was a gurgle of bubbles up through the ship which meant it was sinking, and it wouldn't work for an anchor. It was all foggy ahead of them. I think they had to find the right 'anchor' or whatever...
A little later: Horatio Hornblower's captain {in the shows…one who was admiral} was in{what looked like} my grandparents' dining room. He was in uniform; people were all around the room and around the table. A man was behind him and he made a pronouncement while putting the sword over his shoulders and by his sides in a repetitive motion; I thought he was knighting him but it was actually a demotion.
